Politics – Sanders backs DNC chair’s primary opponent

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders said he supports Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s Democratic opponent, Tim Canova of Florida’s 23^rd congressional district. “Well, clearly, I favor her opponent,” Sanders told State of the Union’s Jake Tapper. “His views are much closer to mine than as to Wasserman Schultz’s.” Sanders, who has had an increasingly bitter feud with Wasserman Shultz, said if elected president he would not reappoint Wasserman Schultz to head the DNC.
