Obama: There’s nothing the U.S. can’t achieve

In President Barack Obama’s third State of the Union address on Capitol Hill, he raised the subject of a “fair shot” that everyone in the country deserves due to a growing gap between the rich and poor. He challenged Republican lawmakers to either work with him or stand aside so he could use his presidency to take action and renew American values. “I intend to fight obstruction with action,” said Obama.

Increasing student aid, a commitment to increase job training, and implementing the Buffet Rule are among a few crucial topics that will set the tone for the 10 months to come in the election year. In one of Obama’s ending statements, he said, “When we act together,” Republicans and Democrats, “there’s nothing the U.S. can’t achieve.” He said, “The State of the Union is getting stronger.”
