“Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope,” is set to be released Nov. 15. The joint memoir of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, retired astronaut Mark Kelly, was co-authored with Jeffrey Zaslow of “The Last Lecture.” Giffords is still recovering from a Jan. 8 shooting in Tucson, Arizona where a gunman opened fire.
According to a spokesman, Giffords has been involved with the writing process, and the memoir will cover Gifford’s political career as well as Kelly’s time on the Space Shuttle Endeavor. The memoir will also cover Giffords’ recovery in recent months.
