Democrats are now joining the Republican-led Banghazi select committee. House Democratic Leader, Nancy Pelosi, stated that she would appoint five Republican members to the committee for the investigation of the Benghazi terrorist attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Libya. The attack occurred in 2012, and resulted in the death of four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens. Republicans have openly criticized the Obama administration’s handling of the attack. The Democrats, who originally did not take part in the forming or actions of the committee, feels that their presence is necessary to maintain balance.
