Congress reaches deal on $1.1 trillion federal budget

Congressional leaders agreed on a $1.1 trillion spending plan Tuesday for the federal budget just two days before the deadline. If the bill does not pass through Congress, the government may shut down. Bipartisan comments show that both chambers are working to avoid this possibility, and hope to push the bill unanimously through the Senate Thursday. Senate Democrats have stated they plan on passing the bill as long as House GOP members haven’t added any ‘riders’ they disagree with.
