Clinton is expected to recover fully
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was discharged from New York-Presbyterian Hospital on Wednesday and given a positive prognosis from her doctors.
“Secretary Clinton was discharged from the hospital this evening. Her medical team advised her that she is making good progress on all fronts, and they are confident she will make a full recovery,” Philippe Reines, a deputy assistant secretary of state, said in a statement.
Secretary Clinton was admitted to the hospital to be treated for a blood clot stemming from a concussion. Secretary Clinton had fainted upon returning to the USA from a trip to Europe because of a stomach virus she had acquired in Europe. She hit her head when she fainted, which apparently led to the blood clot. The clot was closed to her head but not in her brain. She continued to communicate with her staff via telephone and receive memos while receiving treatment for the clot. A statement released on Monday said that Clinton’s doctors said she was being treated with blood thinners and would be released from the hospital once the correct dosage of blood thinner had been determined.
