Cain accuser wants to speak out

0

The woman who accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment in the 1990s wants to tell her side of the story. Joel P. Bennett, her lawyer, says she feels the wrong impression has been made in the media, and wants to speak out. She is currently bound, however, by a non-disclosure agreement signed upon leaving the National Restaurant Association. Bennett will call on the association to waive that agreement, so that the woman can rebut Cain’s statement.

A second woman who accused Cain reportedly received $35,000 in settlement, as opposed to the several months’ salary that Cain had initially suggested. Cain has called the sexual harassment allegations false and baseless. Over two days of interviews he has gradually released more—sometimes inconsistent—information about the allegations. Cain blamed the inconsistencies on the length of time since the events occurred.
