The most destructive wildfire in Colorado’s history became 75 percent contained on Monday when it began to rain. Evacuation orders were lifted although authorities did not allow victims to return to homes in places, where the most destruction occurred. Authorities continue to examine these areas to learn more about the fire.

Investigators believe the fire was caused by a human after going through the remains of homes destroyed by the fire. Victims are eager to return to their homes, some refusing to leave after authorities allowed them to go into their homes for emergency situations. Terry Maketa, El Paso County’s Sherriff said to the victims, “We’re not ignoring you and we’re with you.”
