SeaWorld Entertainment will not appeal a court decision that holds federal safety citations against the theme park. This decision will prevent any chance of putting trainers into the water with killer whales during shows. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued the citations against SeaWorld in 2010 after a trainer died during one of the killer whale show. OSHA recommended that the trainers stop going into the water with killer whales and to put up physical barriers between trainers and whales. Last week, the park said it would not try to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. SeaWorld voluntarily pulled trainers from the water after trainer Dawn Brancheau’s death. They have not put trainers back in the water since.
