Former FBI director Louis Freeh has been chosen to lead the probe into the Penn State sex abuse scandal. Following the appointment, Freeh said his goal was to conduct a comprehensive, fair, and quick review, which will go back as far as 1975. Freeh’s team of investigators has begun the process of reading the grand jury report issued earlier this month. Freeh’s appointment reassured doubts of the thoroughness of the investigation, with Freeh attesting there would be “no favoritism.”

Recently, the first victim to come forward in the case against former coach Jerry Sandusky has changed high schools in his senior year amid reports of bullying. The 17-year-old said he was the object of name calling and threats by other students, who blamed him for the firing of coach Joe Paterno.
