Girl recorded 2004 beating by father; video goes viral on YouTube

Hillary Adams, now 23, has gone public about violence in her childhood household that she says was a regular occurrence. A recently posted video on YouTube shows her father, Judge William Adams, beating her, aged 16, repeatedly with a belt. Her father was punishing her for using the Internet “to acquire music and games that were unavailable for legal purchase at the time.”

In a recent interview with Anderson Cooper, Adams discussed her reasons behind posting the video. She said her father was in “in some denial” about the way he treated her and her mother. William Adams currently faces a judicial conduct probe over the incident. A district attorney stated that the statute of limitations would prohibit the filing of charges against William Adams.
