The Escambia County Jail experienced a blast on Wednesday night that is speculated to have been caused by a natural gas explosion. The blast caused massive damage to the building, injured 155 inmates and killed 2 others. “It’s pretty much complete destruction inside this facility. It was a huge explosion,” said Sheriff David Morgan. The names of the two inmates killed as a result of the blast have not been identified. The remaining inmate’s injuries were minor and none considered life-threatening.
