Brothers of Ariel Castro have no sympathy

The two brothers of the Cleveland man accused of holding three women hostage for a decade say they have no sympathy for him. One brother called his brother a monster and hopes he “rots in jail”. Onil and Pedro Castro told CNN that they want the three women to know how sorry they are for what they went through.

The two brothers were originally taken into custody, but were released after investigators claimed there was no evidence against them. Ariel Castro has been charged with rape and kidnapping and is being held on an $8 million bond. Pedro Castro said he was shocked to learn that Gina DeJesus was a victim considering that he’d known her father for a long time, and Ariel even attended a vigil for her when she went missing.

Pedro Castro claimed that when he went into Ariel’s house, he never noticed anything unusual. He said that part of the house was blocked off by curtains, and a TV or radio was always on.

The brothers fear they will continue to be targeted even after Ariel Castro’s capture. They have been receiving death threats since their release form custody, but do not wish to be associated with their bother’s crimes.
