Wi-Fi coming to 6 outdoor locations in Baltimore

With the ubiquitous nature of the internet these days, not having access to Wi-Fi can be a serious detriment to one’s work and social needs. That is why Chris Tonjes, Balitmore’s chief information officer for the major’s Office of Information Technology, has made it a priority to equip six busy public markets with wireless internet capabilities. On Thursday evening the first of the six, Lexington Market, was “turned on” to the internet, funded by donations from Believe Wireless Broadband. The next five markets, Avenue, Broadway Market, Cross Street, Hollins, and Northeast, should have internet set up by the end of the year.
