Police in Waldorf, Maryland are investigating a violent crime that left one woman dead, and her husband in serious condition. The couple were walking their dogs down a path in the Hampshire neighborhood around 7:30 p.m. Friday night when neighbors heard several gunshots ring out. Police were called and arrived on the scene in less than a minute, but the attacker had already fled the scene. The Maryland community where the crime occurred is largely in shock. The seemingly random incident happened in a quiet neighborhood close to many homes.
As late as Wednesday evening, no motives have been uncovered although police are following several leads. The suspect is described as a young black male, about six feet tall and thin.
