Testimony on repeal of MD death penalty will include O’Malley

The Maryland Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee and the House Judiciary Committee will convene on Thursday to hear testimonies by Governor Martin O’Malley, NAACP President Benjamin Jealous, Archbishop William E. Lori among others in an effort to repeal the death penalty. O’Malley tried before to push a repeal through the state, but was unsuccessful, this time, he thinks Maryland’s lawmakers will vote in his favor.
