Teammate to speak in Navy sex assault case
Former U.S. Naval Academy football player Eric Graham of Eight Mile, Alabama is scheduled to speak publicly for the first time in a case in which his teammate is accused of sexual assault. Previously charged in the case, Graham is set to be deposed during a hearing in Washington on Tuesday for Joshua Tate of Nashville, Tennessee. Tate is facing a court-martial, which is the military’s equivalent of a trial, in mid-March. Hearings ahead of the trial are being conducted by a military judge. Charges against Graham were dismissed in January by the head of the Naval Academy after a recommendation from prosecutors. Graham can still be called as a witness in Tate’s trial. On Monday, the Naval Academy confirmed that Graham is in the process of leaving the school.
