Montgomery County officials announced Thursday that repairs to the Silver Spring Transit Center will cost an additional $21 million. The project is now four years behind schedule, and the cost will be brought to $141 million, which is $50 million over original estimates. The new announcement is a follow-up to a September statement that more funds were needed to fix construction and design defects in the terminal.
