Montgomery County transportation advisers are holding three open-house public meetings next week to allow members of the community hear and discuss plans for a massive public transit overhaul. Master Planner Larry Cole presented the proposal to the Montgomery County Planning Board last night, noting that even if approved, it is a decades long project. It is important, however, to look forward when planning alterations to roads and commuter needs as population continues to rapidly expand and over-stress highways in the area. The planned project will entail a county-wide rapid bus transit system that will run in designated lanes during peak hours.
