Police ID man found in Gaithersburg pond
Police have identified the man found in the Gaithersburg pond over the weekend.
The man has been identified as 25-year-old Matthew Baker, a Gaithersburg resident. Police are calling Baker’s death suspicious and are working with a medical examiner to determine how he died.
Police were called to the pond near the entrance of Nike Missile Park around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday after someone reported seeing a body in the water. Maryland-National Capital Park Police had also been called on Friday after someone reported finding clothes near the pond. Officials are looking to see if the cases are related.
