A man charged with killing a 13-year-old in Baltimore had been running from police for two weeks after leaving a secure hospital unit for patients with psychological conditions. On May 27, police had taken 25-year-old Anthony Jerome Clark Jr. to a secure University of Maryland Medical Center psychological unit after he cut his own wrists when being arrested for a robbery. Police say they told hospital staff to notify them before Clark was released, but they were never notified. Officers immediately began looking for Clark as soon as they realized he was gone, said a police spokesman. According to police, on June 11, Clark shot and killed 13-year-old DiAndre Barnes.
