Maryland – Baltimore police officer acquitted in third Freddie Gray case

Baltimore police officer Caesar Goodson was acquitted of murder and all other charges Thursday, making him the third officer to walk free after the death of 25-year-old prisoner Freddie Gray. Goodson was the driver of the police van within which Gray sustained a fatal spinal injury. The judge presiding over all of the cases involving Baltimore police and Gray’s death said he has yet to see any evidence proving any of the officers committed a crime. While the officers were not found guilty in a court of law, they still remain at fault in the eyes of the city’s citizens. “It’s a matter of fact that he was alive when he got in the van. It’s a matter of fact that his spine was severed,” said Black Lives Matter activist. “Six people contributed to that.”
