Man accused of cannibalism enters plea in MD

A former Maryland college student has pleaded guilty, but not criminally responsible for the murder of a man as well as eating his heart and part of his brain.

Alex Kinyua entered the plea on Monday in Harford County Circuit Court to first-degree murder in 2012. Kinyua was accused of killing a 37-year-old man from Ghana who was staying with Kinyua’s family.

The 22-year-old has been committed to the health department.
