Gov. Martin O’Malley to announce summer jobs

Governor Martin O’Malley and Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Blake will announce funding in support of summer jobs for youth in the Baltimore area.

During a visit to the Maryland Institute College of Art on Wednesday, the governor and mayor plan to make the announcement that will affect more than 5,000 Baltimore youth.

The initiative is called the YouthWorks Program. It places people between the ages of 14 and 21 in a six-week summer job with a private sector, non-profit city and state government employer throughout the city.
