Arrest warrant issued for man in Amber Alert

An arrest warrant has been issued for Timothy Howard Virts, 38, in connection with the death of Bobbie Jo Cortez found dead in her home in Dundalk. Virts is also wanted for the alleged abduction of his 11-year-old daughter, Caitlyn Virts, who went missing Thursday morning. Caitlyn is still missing and police believe that she is with her father. They are looking for his Dodge Durango with Maryland license plate 5AJ4458. Anyone seeing the two or the vehicle should call 911 or 401-307-2020. Caitlyn Virts is described as white, 5 feet tall, weighing 80 pounds, and may be wearing glasses. Timothy Virts is described as white, 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 280 pounds. Cortez, was found dead in her bedroom in the 3100 block of Ardee Way in Dundalk Thursday. Police were responding to a call for cardiac arrest but found Cortez suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper body. An autopsy is being performed Friday. The Amber Alert for Caitlyn Virts is still in effect.
