‘Yeezus’ hits No. 1 on Billboard charts

After the birth of daughter North West, Kanye West has had more to celebrate after his album “Yeezus” debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

“Yeezus” will be the rapper’s sixth No. 1 record, as well as his sixth consecutive debut at the top spot, which included his collaboration album “Watch the Throne” with Jay-Z.

Although No. 1, “Yeezus” is West’s lowest selling album, with only 327,000 copies sold so far. Industry observers had higher expectations for the album, but they recognize that it was released without a single.

For the 2013 year, “Yeezus” is the third-largest album debut, right behind Justin Timberlake’s “The 20/20 Experience” and Daft Punk’s “Random Access Memories”.
