Yankees ‘A-Rod’ sues MLB
Famous New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez has filed a lawsuit against Major League Baseball and its commissioner which was confirmed Friday.
Rodriguez has filed suit in the New York State Supreme Court on the grounds that the MLB and the commissioner are ruining his reputation. He is claiming that his 211-game suspension was unrightfully enforced stemming from Commissioner Bud Selig’s own personal crusade and attempt to save face in the baseball community by making an example of Rodriguez.
The suspension was handed down to the Yankees third baseman upon his violation of baseball’s drug agreement and labor contract by his use of performance-enhancing drugs. According to Rodriguez the punishment was implemented in an attempt to smear his name and shame his career.
