Following the announcement that Steven Colbert will be ending his nearly 10-year run as host of Comedy Central’s the “Colbert Report,” the cable channel has announced that “The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore” will be called upon to fill the 11:30 spot—Colbert is leaving to replace David Letterman on the CBS program, “The Late Show,” sometime next year. According to a Comedy Central spokesperson, “The series will feature a diverse panel of voices currently underrepresented in comedy and television.” Wilmore described himself as “beyond excited to have this chance to continue my relationships with Comedy Central and the brilliant Jon Stewart.” Stewart’s Busboy Productions are credited for developing both the “Colbert Report” and “Minority Report.”
