Usher tops Billboard charts
Singer-actor Usher racked up his fourth No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart on Wednesday with “Looking 4 Myself.” But according to Nielsen SoundScan figures, the R&B star’s seventh studio album sold far below his last set, “Raymond v Raymond.” The 33-year-old “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” and “U Got It Bad” singer’s “Looking 4 Myself” sold 120,000 copies, while “Raymond v Raymond” debuted with sales of 329,000 in 2010.
Canadian rockers Rush secured the No. 2 spot with “Clockwork Angels,” which sold 103,000 copies. Adele’s Grammy-award winning “21,” which has spent 69 weeks in the top ten, was pushed down to the No. 3 spot. Country music singer Josh Turner’s “Punching Bag” sold 45,000 copies in its first week placing it at No. 4. While British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran held the No. 5 spot with the debut of his “+,” which sold 42,000 copies in its first week.
