Taylor Swift was awarded three trophies at the 39th annual American Music awards Sunday night, including Artist of the Year. She beat out Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Lil Wayne to win the award, which she had also won in 2009. Swift also won favorite country female artist and favorite country album. Sunday’s wins bring Swift’s total AMAs to 10.
Other big winners of the night include Rapper Nicki Minaj, who won for favorite rap/hip hop artist and favorite hip hop album. Vocalist Adele was absent from the show due to throat surgery, but she pulled in three awards, favorite pop/rock female artist, adult contemporary artist and pop/rock album.
