Rosie O’Donnell announced Friday that she has postponed her wedding because her fiancée, Michelle Rounds, was diagnosed with a cancer-like disease that causes painful tumors. The 50-year-old “A League of their Own” actress tweeted out the news “b4 the tabloids run it.”

Rounds suffers from an extremely rare condition called desmoids tumors. The tumors are non-cancerous, but they spread in the same way. Rounds underwent surgery for the tumors in June and is recovering well. O’Donnell announced via her blog that she has joined the fight against the disease and pledged to help raise awareness and money.

Their wedding has been set for next summer.
