Queen Latifah talks about adopting

Hip-hop star Queen Latifah announced Wednesday on “The View” that she is considering starting a family of her own through adoption. When co-host Barbara Walters asked the singer/rapper-actress if she would ever adopt, Latifah told Walters, “I’m actually kind of working on that.” The 42-year-old “Joyful Noise” actress went on saying, “I’m totally serious … So if you got a kid that you don’t . . . Just give me a year, let me set up camp and send me the kid! But no, no, totally.”

Latifah, born Dana Elaine Owens, kicked off her music career in the late 1980s with her first album “All Hail the Queen.” Songs like “U.N.I.T.Y” helped the New Jersey native receive a Grammy Award, while films like “Chicago” helped her win a Golden Globe.
