Pink to be honored with BMI president’s award

Singer, songwriter, and actress Pink (real name Alecia Beth Moore) will be honored with the prestigious BMI President’s Award next month. According to Broadcast Music Incorporated, Pink will receive the honor due to her songwriting efforts and impact on pop culture. The 63rd annual BMI Pop Awards will be held on May 12 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. BMI has presented the award to Taylor Swift, Juanes and Willie Nelson in the past. Pink’s career accolades include three Grammy Awards, a Brit Award, and six MTV Video Music Awards. She has released six studio albums, and sold over 100 million records worldwide. She has co-written most of her hit tracks, including “So What” and “Just Give Me a Reason.” The BMI Pop Awards will also acknowledge the top songwriters and publishers from last year as well.
