Swedish director Malik Bendjelloul died on Tuesday afternoon in Stockholm. Bendjelloul was awarded the Oscar for best documentary for “Searching for Sugar Man”—it was his debut feature. Stockholm Police Sgt. Janne Gyllstedt stated that no crime is suspected in the death, and no cause of death has yet been announced. Bendjelloul was 36.
