Oprah interviewed by Facebook Live

Oprah Winfrey’s stardom has not waned since she stepped away from “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in May, as proven by the warm welcome she received when she was interviewed by Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg on Thursday. Fans who watched the interview live from their computers were able to “like” the event. Winfrey put to rest the idea that she has had an uneventful retirement, citing her involvement in the OWN television network as her primary focus. Winfrey serves as the network’s chairman, CEO and chief creative officer.

Winfrey believes a lot can be learned from the social media site. “Facebook’s goal is to connect everybody in the world, my goal is to connect with people so they see for themselves the greater possibilities of their lives.”
