Michael Jackson tribute belt now for sale
A belt attributed to Michael Jackson is now on sale after three years of being kept off of the market. The belt created a large dispute between the Jackson family and the lawyers representing Jackson’s estate. The agreement occurred after an out-of-court settlement.
Trustees of the Jackson estate immediately issued a cease and desist letter after the belt originally went on sale in May 2010. They claimed the belt had not been approved by Katherine Jackson, a partner in the company who makes the belts.
Katherine is no longer a partner in the company. Over 7,000 leather belts, designed by Simon Tavassoli have gone on sale this week with prices starting at $1,600.
