Based on what Madonna reportedly said on stage at her concert in Nice, France on Tuesday evening, it seems as if she doesn’t hold a grudge against Elton John for his critical remarks about her on Australian TV not long ago. According to the Twitter feed of the local paper, Nice Matin, Madonna performed her song “Masterpiece” at her show and dedicated the song to John, saying he’s a “big fan” of hers and added, “I forgive him.”
Madonna’s choice to dedicate “Masterpiece” may have backhanded the tribute. The song won her a Golden Globe earlier this year, beating out a song of John’s in the process. Prior to the award show, John declared that Madonna didn’t have a chance of winning. After the show, John’s partner David Furnish publicly trashed Madonna and complained about her win.
