A lawyer from a London law firm was fined after revealing J.K. Rowling as the true author of book The Cuckoo’s Calling.
Chris Gossage, a lawyer from the Russells Solicitors firm that represents Rowling, was ordered to pay a fine of 1,000 pounds ($1,645) after telling a friend that Rowling was the real author of the The Cuckoo’s Calling. Rowling had earlier tried to hide her identity by publishing under the alias Robert Galbraith.
The firm issued a written apology along with a payment to Rowling.
Sales of The Cuckoo’s Calling increased significantly after Rowling’s identity was revealed.
