Joe Cocker, English musician, died Monday after a long illness of small cell lung cancer at the age of 70. Cocker, well-known for his cover of the Beatle’s “With a Little Help From My Friends” as well as his own work, was a blues and soul singer. His label, Sony Music announced the news. Billy Joel recently expressed his affection and admiration for the singer, and stated “I think he should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I’m amazed that he’s not yet,” reported the New York Times.
