Jackson family divided on Michael Jackson escape plan

In the 2005 child molestation case involving Michael Jackson, there had been talks amongst his family members of helping Jackson leave the country if convicted. Jermaine Jackson (with the support of brother Randy) reportedly wanted to fly Michael via private jet to Bahrain, which had no extradition treaty with the U.S. Jackson’s mother Katherine and sister Janet were opposed to the idea, concerned that they could be prosecuted for aiding and abetting a felon.

The practicality of the possible escape plan was rendered trivial by Jackson’s acquittal.
