Investigation underway in Usher’s stepson’s accident

An investigation into the Friday jet ski accident that left singer Usher’s stepson brain dead is now underway.

According to ABC News, Jeffrey S. Hubbard, a 38-year-old family friend, was operating the jet ski when it collided with 11-year-old Kyle Glover, the son of the R&B singer’s ex-wife, Tameka Foster.

Sgt. Mike Burgamy, who’s with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources said, “The accident is under investigation, and Hubbard is [under investigation] as the operator of the personal watercraft.” Glover was riding an inner tube on Lake Lanier in Atlantic, Ga. on Friday with an unidentified 15-year-old girl. Glover was hit in the head and registered no brain activity since he was admitted, while the girl reportedly suffered a broken arm and cut on her head. Burgamy explained, “A pontoon was pulling the two adolescents on an inner tube, and the personal water craft went over the top of them.”

Though the 33-year-old “Climax” singer and Foster are engaged in a heated custody battle for sons Usher Raymond V and Naviyd, the two have put their issues aside to support one another during this time. Usher and Foster divorced after two years of marriage in 2009. According to an insider, “Tameka and Usher don’t get along, but in this circumstance Usher is coming to her side … Usher practically raised Kyle as his own. He’s known him for seven years. It is so sad what happened.”
