‘Hobbit’ trilogy wraps up in New Zealand

Director Peter Jackson has wrapped up filming “The Hobbit” trilogy and has shared pictures of the last day on set with Facebook fans.

On Friday, Jackson posted pictures of the final film, “The Hobbit: There and Back Again”. The second film, “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” will be released in December. The finale will appear in 2014.

The director posted pictures of dwarves and crewmembers, as well as Martin Freeman who plays Bilbo Baggins.

“The Hobbit”, which is based on J.R.R. Tolkien novel of the same name, is the prequel to his “Lord of the Rings” series. “The Hobbit” outlines Baggins’ adventure as he tries to help a group of dwarves regain their wealth and stature from the dragon Smaug.
