HBO renews ‘The Newsroom’ and ‘True Blood’
HBO announced Monday that it has renewed TV dramas “The Newsroom” and “True Blood.” “The Newsroom,” which was created by “The Social Network” writer Aaron Sorkin, chronicles the behind-the-scenes events at a fictional news channel. The program, which premiered June 23, received much praise earning the show an 8.6 out of 10 score on the website metacritic.com. “True Blood,” a fantasy drama detailing the co-existence of vampires and humans in a fictional, small town in northwestern Louisiana, is also getting renewed. The program, which was created and produced by “Six Feet Under” writer Alan Ball, will have a sixth season next year, though no details on airdates were discussed.
