The medical drama, “House,” will end its eight-year run this season on Fox. “House” stars Hugh Laurie, who plays a brilliant and troubled doctor, Gregory House, with a gift for uncovering medical mysteries. Omar Epps, Robert Sean Leonard, and Charlyne Yi are also part of the cast ensemble.

In a joint statement made by Laurie and the show’s executive producers, they said, “The decision to end the show now, or ever, is a painful one, as it risks putting asunder hundreds of close friendships that have developed over the last eight years — but also because the show itself has been a source of great pride to everyone involved.” The show airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on Fox, but a season finale date was unannounced.
