Singer and American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino gave birth to a son in North Carolina on Tuesday, according to her representative. The boy, named Dallas Xavier, is Barrino’s second child. She also has a 10-year-old daughter. “I feel so blessed that my son Dallas Xavier was born healthy, and is a wonderful new addition to our family,” Barrino said. “I thank all my fans for their well wishes and continued support.”
Barrino has not said who the father is. Her entertainment career has faced troubles, including an admitted relationship with a married man and being sued by her own father. Barrino, 27, became the winner of “American Idol” in 2004 when viewers were won over by her story as a teenage mother.
