Conrad Murray guilty in Michael Jackson case

After a two-year legal battle surrounding Michael Jackson’s death, Dr. Conrad Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. Murray was immediately handcuffed and taken from the courtroom. His sentencing is set for November 29, with Murray facing up to four years in prison. His defense team vowed to appeal the conviction. It is possible prison overcrowding could limit Murray’s time behind bars.

Emotions ran high outside the courtroom when the verdict was read, with Jackson fans cheering and shouting “justice.” One woman reportedly fainted. Jackson family members in attendance were emotional as Prosecutor Michael Walgreen expressed his sympathies, saying they had lost “not a pop icon, but a son and brother.”
