Classic rock legends to play at Rock and Roll for Children Foundation event

The Rock and Roll for Children Foundation annual concert returns to the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club on Saturday, March 14. The concert extravaganza will benefit The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health. This year’s musical guests include Ricky Byrd, guitarist for Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, who will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame April 18. Byrd has been participating with the Rock and Roll for Children Foundation on and off for the past decade. Another guest who will be making an appearance this weekend will be Simon Kirke, drummer for Free and legendary rock supergroup Bad Company. Joining them on stage this weekend will be: Jeff Kazee, (keyboardist for Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes), Mark Rivera (Billy Joel Band), Derek St. Holmes (Ted Nugent Band), Christine Ohlman (Saturday Night Live Band), Snuffy Walden (Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, award-winning TV composer), Sarah Niemietz (Singer/Songwriter), Amy Keys (Phil Collins and Toto), John and Holly Bisaha (The Babys), Neal Pawley (Southside Johnny), Chris Anderson (Southside Johnny), Shawn Pelton (Saturday Night Live Band), and David Santos (John Fogerty/Billy Joel). The event will include live music, dancing, refreshments, and a silent auction of rock memorabilia. General admission costs $75 per ticket. If you up that to $175, you get stage-front access, a buffet dinner and an open bar. For $400, you can get VIP access, including: sound check, autographed memorabilia and photo opportunities with the artists.
