Cissy Houston to perform tribute to Whitney

Cissy Houston will perform a tribute to her late daughter at the upcoming BET Awards. A source familiar with BET’s plans said Houston will join “a few top divas” on the July 1 award show. Because the tribute has not been officially announced, the source was unable to share the names of the other artists. The six-time Grammy-award winning Whitney Houston died in February at 48. Authorities called the “I Will Always Love You” singer’s death an accidental drowning, complicated by heart disease and cocaine use.

The BET Awards will air live from The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Kanye West, Beyonce and Jay-Z are the top nominees.
