British boy band One Direction named MTV’s Best Artists of 2012

Calling them “the clear choice for the top spot,” MTV has awarded the British singing group “One Direction” the title of Best Artists of 2012. One Direction’s accomplishments this year include two number one albums, meeting the queen of England, closing out the Olympics, Saturday Night Live, and a sold out show in Madison Square Garden. Their album “Take Me Home” was the third highest debuting album of the year. All of these were factors that influenced MTV’s decision.
