Bob Dylan to release new album in September
Grammy Award-winning singer Bob Dylan is releasing a new album. “Tempest,” the 71-year-old’s 35th studio album, will debut on September 11 to mark the 50th anniversary of his first record, “Bob Dylan.” “Tempest” will feature 10 new and original songs from the famed singer-songwriter. Dylan, whose hits include “Like a Rolling Stone” and “It Ain’t Be Me,” hasn’t released an album since 2009.
The Minnesota native received the Presidential Medal of Freedom this year and was awarded a special Pulitzer Prize in 2008 for his impact on popular music and American culture. Though his first album initially did not sell well, his second album, “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan,” released in 1963, established him as a poetic writer of protest songs.
